Children's Museum (Wizard of Oz exibit)
I wanted to get these pictures posted earlier for Mom, Erin and Britt, but of course as everything this summer...the task was put aside and left behind. So now, I am finally posting our trip to the museum. Thanks Eric for taking some of these (I can always tell when you're taking the picture versus me). I can't help but love the one of Erin --- she was ready to go by the end. Grace had a a good time and I think she will definitely want to go again.

The guilt of a weekend away...
Well, it is finally going to happen. We are leaving Grace for the first time for more than one night. Yes, a whole weekend. I know I shouldn't feel so guilty or sad, but I know it is going to be hard at first. So many thoughts and concerns mostly; will she be good while we are gone? I hope she is so that the people we leave her with will not totally regret agreeing to this babysitting job. I hope she also doesn't feel completely abandoned by us.
I will just have to make it through and not be totally preoccupied thinking about how she is doing. Oh this is going to be hard.

Colorado
We had the opportunity in August to go on a road trip to Colorado. Our traveling companions were my mom and sister Erin and of course our family of three. I was very nervous leading up to the trip not knowing how ourn newly walking one-year-old would take sitting in a car for 15 hours, but I think overall, she did fabulous and the rest of us managed to make it through the time as well. We got out to Colorado on a Thursday afternoon and stayed with my Aunt and Uncle in Fort Collins. They were great hosts to us and I'm glad we were able to spend some time with them and Ava and Gabe. Here are some pictures from our trip!
Mom and John enjoying wine and cigar and the Colorado night air
My mom went on a walk with Grace, the dog, and I and fell off of the curb, skinning her knee. Not the way to start our vacation, but she mended well.
The traveling crew at the top of our mountain (Emerald Lake behind us)
Tim, Kari, Ava and Gabe
Heading down the mountain (much more enjoyable) with Grace awake and my mom
Gracie peeking out from around her dad seeing who was coming up behind them
John with Gracie taking a look on top of the rocks - awesome sites
